Important information about upcoming changes to Lightbit services

Lightbit, UAB (Lightbit) is preparing to transition to the new regulatory framework under the EU Regulation on markets in crypto-assets (MiCA Regulation), which will apply to crypto-asset service providers from 1 January 2026.

Lightbit intends to continue operating under this new framework and is in the process of applying for MiCA authorisation. However, based on the expected timing of the authorisation process, the licence is not expected to be in place by 31 December 2025. Therefore, Lightbit must cease providing its current services to clients from 1 January 2026 and ensure that any clients’ funds and crypto-assets held with Lightbit are withdrawn or transferred by 31 December 2025. With immediate effect, no new Clients will be on-boarded and no new Client balances (crypto or fiat) will be accepted.

If you are an existing client and hold fiat funds or crypto-assets with Lightbit, you are requested to withdraw or transfer all funds and crypto-assets from your accounts with Lightbit by 31 December 2025, using the usual channels (online account or other agreed methods). We recommend that you complete any new transactions or transfers well in advance of that date. All affected clients will be contacted individually with more detailed instructions on the withdrawal and transfer process.

From 1 January 2026, Lightbit client-facing services will be temporarily suspended while we complete the MiCA authorisation process.

If you have any questions or require assistance with withdrawals or transfers, please contact:

Lightbit apologises for any inconvenience this may cause. Our aim is to complete this process in an orderly and transparent manner and in full compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, so that we can resume services as a MiCA-authorised crypto-asset service provider as soon as possible.
